thisbluespirit: List the first lines of your last 10 stories (if you have fewer than 10, just list them all!). See if there are any patterns. Choose your favorite opening line.

Teen Wolf Fic WIP

Alrighty, so I have less than 10 actually published fics, but that's okay. I referenced my most recent WIPs for the last two first lines I needed (try saying that several times over in your head). I've noticed that whenever I start writing (be it fics or otherwise) I like to default to very cut and dry statements, or a bit of dialogue.
I've never been a fan of the whole "first line hook" thing, because I don't think the first line is fairly indicative of the rest of the story. So instead I like when the first page or paragraph are able to hold my attention. I think this applies to my own writing in a way.
Anyways, I think my favorite of these 10 would be... probably number 10? I also like number 8, but number 10 just cracks me up and just really cements in the fact that I should probably work on that fic in earnest and finish it (or at least get more than a page and a half done).
There we go! My first writing meme I guess. This was pretty fun and I'd like to do more of these in the future, so don't be surprised to see more. I made sure to include the ratings to make sure that no one was taken off guard.
Take care!

I don't know all the fandoms, but I found myself giggling at quite a few of them, even so. I'm always a sucker for a strong, "No." starter, but I really dig the chatroom starter, too. It's unusual enough to see a fic that just throws you into an old school, AIM-style conversation, and this interaction is both funny and establishes a really strong, immediate character voice at the same time on top of that.
Bravo! :)
